A brief history
From 30 students in 1999 to five campuses across Papua New Guinea.
- 1999ITI is establishedThe International Training Institute (ITI) was established in March 1999 to provide affordable and quality education for the people of Papua New Guinea. ITI first offered certificate courses in computing, with an intake of 30 students in that year.
- 2003Over 1,000 studentsFrom this humble beginning, ITI has grown to offer Certificate and Diploma courses in Business and Information Technology, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Accounting. Student enrolments passed the 1,000 mark in 2003.
- 2004Five campuses across PNGDue to demand, and starting with Lae in 2004, ITI opened campuses in Lae (Morobe Province), Goroka (Eastern Highlands Province), Kokopo (East New Britain Province) and Kimbe (West New Britain Province), alongside our main campus in Port Moresby.
- 2017Over 4,000 studentsSince 1999, ITI has become a household name for education and training in PNG. In 2017 the number of students exceeded 4,000.
- 2018The Higher DiplomaITI introduced the Higher Diploma, a 2 year diploma program approved by the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST). These diplomas are recognised for credits by Pacific Adventist University in PNG, and by Australian universities including Griffith University, the University of the Sunshine Coast and James Cook University. ITI has been granted Full Institute Accreditation by the Ministry for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, and our registration was renewed in 2018.
