Much more than a school
As part of social obligation, ITI has been continuing its goodwill by giving back to the community in a way of sponsorship and endowing donations to various public and private organizations in the country for a good cause.

ITI Scholarships
ITI has been providing a grant of free school fee to the deserving grade 10 and 12 school leavers across the country. This scholarship has been the biggest and leading community services among others sponsorship. Helping the less fortunate but brilliant students who has no opportunity to pursue university studies due to financial constraints. With this scheme the scholars will be able to learn the skills and knowledge and hands on training opportunity for free, which will prepare them to be more competitive and confident in looking for a job in their future endeavor.
As a result ,some of the ITI scholars are now successfully employed.

POM Cricket Association

The Port Moresby Cricket Association has been receiving a boost from International Training Institute. The ITI sponsorship in its 8th year running at supporting POMCA has injected over K200,000 to promote and develop cricket in the country. The sponsorship was made possible through the initiative of former POMCA chairman late John Vada for the 800 players participating in the competition.

ITI is grateful with the progress in the level of competition and ultimately get the players to reach into the national level.

Moreover, players affiliated with the POM Cricket Association have been giving an opportunity to further their education through ITI by providing scholarship to the cricketers who have completed grade 10 and 12. This is to make sure that players not only excel in cricket which keeps them busy and out of trouble but it also enables them to excel in their education.

Trukai Fun Run
The annual Trukai Fun Run is the country’s biggest fund raising activity. Funds raised through the sale of Trukai Fun Run shirts are being auctioned off to various companies with a large portion of the proceeds used to assist PNG athletes compete at Pacific, Commonwealth and Olympic level. Also lending financial support to local schools to earn additional income through the selling of donated shirts to fund important school project and equipment.
Since 2012, International Training Institute has auctioned more than 7,000 Trukai fun run t shirts to public and private sectors in the entire of Papua New Guinea. ITI is one of the private higher learning institutions that have been attending the auction. Kick off total amount reached K70,000 for the past 6 years. Recipients were mostly primary, secondary and national high schools and government organizations.

ITI Volleyball Tournament
ITI has been hosting ITI Volleyball Tournament within NCD and Central province since 2013 with the theme “Healthy Body Healthy Mind and be physically fit”. More than 120 teams from villages and city proper participated with this fun filled sports exercise. It was great to see that the institute has been organizing an event for the youth to make use of their time in worthwhile activities. The Institute has been spending more than K120,000 in organizing such sports events. Starting this year, the tournament will also take place in different ITI campuses across the country.

Miss Pacific Island Pageant (PNG)
ITI has been supporting the platform that MPIP provides to empower young PNG women. The pageant offers young talented women from around the region an opportunity to act as cultural ambassadors for Pacific countries.
Talented ITI student is being sponsored by ITI to join the Miss Pacific Island Pageant PNG. Started 2016, Miss Rose Pitoi represented as Miss ITI won Second runner up and Best in Topic Presentation. Last year, Miss Sheilla Yama our Miss ITI candidate bagged again the title of second runner up, Miss Friendship and the Best in Sarong Wear 2017. Miss Yama as PNG’s representative in World Supermodel 2018.

ITI Junior Tennis Tournament
ITI has been partnering with POM Racquets Club through the initiative of Coach Kwalam by sponsoring K15,000 to ITI Junior Tennis Tournament since last year. Junior tennis participating players range from 3 to 18 years of age. Publicity officer of POMRC Schubert Maketu and Coached Kwalam thanked ITI for the support and in getting involved in sports for the younger generation. ITI Junior Tennis Tournament took place in Bava St, East Boroko.

ITI MUSA Soccer
ITI MUSA Soccer club consist of out of school youths in Oro Province. Since 2007, ITI has been supporting a total of 85 young boys and girls players under 17. ITI has been giving boost on footballers’ uniforms, admin and logistics cost. The club has joined POM Soccer Association, Tufi Cup Tournament and Public Servants Soccer Association Competition.
Six Musa soccer players received also a scholarship to study certificate course in ITI and they are all currently working in a reputable firm.

Humanitarian Aid
Western Highland Province has hit hard by the effects of the El Nino with most of the rivers and lakes drying up. ITI has come up to aid for Humanitarian caused by environmental disaster. Amount of K2,000 from the Institute responded on the drought relief through Caritas PNG under the Catholic Archdiocese of Mt Hagen to help raise funds for the affected areas of dry spell.
ITI has donated K5,000/-worth of relief items to the recently effected earth quake areas through the Mission Aviation Fellowship.
